What is totally unique about an individual ?
Well, I am not an expert in this subject, but here is a short list of
attributes of an individual that are totally unique :

Fingerprints
Palm prints
(basically the skin ridge pattern on any part of your body)
Retinal vein patterns
Dentition
DNA
Hair Patterns
Vocal patterns
Brain wave patterns

Quite a bit actually.
As to the question of fingerprint similarity among families - the answer
is yes. Family members do tend to have similar fingerprints, but on a
larger scale so do ethnic groups.

I hope I have been of help.
