MadSci Network: Immunology |
I understand that an increase of sebum leads to a more "likeable" region for bacteria to accumalate, and I understand that the basic role of sebum is to stop the skin from basically drying out. For my independent study I am interested in Immunology and as an initial question would like to know the thoughts of other scientists if they believe that sebum has any antibacterial properties that aids as a deffence mechanism against harmfull bodies.
