From 1126915484.Bc. the source of the chlorine 
could be anything and the 
addition is, well, i don't really know how to explain... just that the chlorine 
is a solution and you are adding the aqueous silver nitrate to it.
the question is: When testing for a chlorine, the solution should be 
acidified with dilute nitric acid before aqueous silver nitrate is added. Why?
