ok, im confused. i understand that both a synergist and fixator muscle act to stabilise a joint as it performs a particular function so that other unecessarey movements dont take place.. but why the two different names? as i understand a fixator is a synergist muscle. is there a difference? are there other types of synergists which are called something other than fixators? i keep running into a circular definition for the term synergist and fixator. kind regards. Chris
